AGRONOMIST: JOB ADVERT

NB: PROVINCIAL RECRUITMENT

We are seeking to recruit Agronomists across all provinces of Zimbabwe. Applicants should preferably be permanent residents of, or currently based in, the province for which they are applying.

Contract Type: Short-term field-based role

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The main purpose of the Agronomist is to support farmers across different provinces in the effective use of BoltAgro’s smart agricultural solutions in Zimbabwe. GeographicReference

Duties and Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The role aims to improve farming practices, maximise crop yields, and promote sustainable land and soil management, particularly under the Pfumvudza/Intwasa Scheme.

1. Technical Support

* Provide technical support and training to local farmers & ARDAS extension officers on BoltAgro products effective use.

2. Trial Monitoring

* Overseeing and monitoring of BoltAgro demonstration trial plots across the designated regions.
* Record and report on trial progress, observations, and results.

3. Commercial & Agronomy Support

* Assist distributors with merchandising of all other BoltAgro products.
* Provide field-based agronomy support to partner outlets and distributors.
* Support the promotion and proper application of BoltAgro products in the field.


Qualifications and Experience
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

* At least a Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy or a related field.
* At least 1 year experience in the agriculture field. Field extension experience is an added advantage.
* Computer literate and holds a valid motorcycle licence.
* Ndebele proficiency is required for candidates applying from Matabeleland Province.
